VFP basically switches context and for each instance and sets up the environment for each instance to have the appearance of its own environment. I haven't tested this thouroughly - it's entirely possible that some things don't set properly.

What about settings like SET DEFAULT?

Call me crazy but I think that any instance of a COM server created by CREATEOBJECT should be totally separate from another.
