Hi all,
Today I have encountered an "Out of memory error" during the design time of an aspx page.
the task manager shows that VS2005 was using about 1.2 Gb of RAM (on my Toshiba I have 1.5Gb). I had to close and reopen VS.
I was working on a page with a gridview, 4 formview (with about 20 control per formview) and editing the formviews to set the proper layout (cut&paste textboexes, ecc.).
Now I'm taking a look at memory consumption and I'm seeing that when editing the formview's tamplate, select 20 textboxes, cut&paste these controls in another area of the same formview take memory consumption to 800Mb and this value is not decremented until I save, close and check-in the file....
I'm not able to set the layout for the 4 formviews without consume all the memory, so I'm editing a formview at a time and close/re-open the page every time.
Is this by design, a bug or maybe must I put 4Gb Ram on my laptop :)
Franco
