How is the dbase code called from your vfp app? Is it a completely separate exe which is run externally from your vfp app? If so, what version of dbase is it? In other words, do the users click on a separate icon on the desktop to launch it or is it called from within your app? If your vfp app calls it, post the code that launches the dbase app. Or is the code vfp but only the tables are dbase format? Please post the code which performs the index function.

Update: Also, does it matter whether the user is running any other version of the OS? W2k, XP, win98, etc? Does it work in any other OS version?
