To be honest, I haven't confirmed that they can send documents to the manual feed tray by other means (from Word, for instance.) I will check on that. The printer is an HP 2430tn and it has, until now (and unbeknownst to me) been installed as a local printer that was shared across the network. To the best of my knowledge, the printer driver is not installed locally.

We've had a couple of problems with this printer since it was installed 3 weeks ago when trying to send output to non-default trays. The first one involved sending automated output from Word to Tray 2 and appears to have been solved partly through another thread #1133113 Message # 1133141 with your help. But the solution only works for the local PC. Everyone else still prints to Tray 3, the default, even though they are executing exactly the same lines of code! I have become convinced that problem is in the way the printer is set up or shared. That is being changed today: the 2430 is being moved to the server and installed as a network device. When that is complete, I'm hoping the problem with Word output will clear up on it's own.

The other problem has been that no one, even the host PC, could send the application's labels to Tray 1, the manual feed tray. I was able to send them to my HP 4P's manual feed tray during testing but the same method didn't work for the client. Since we learned yesterday that there are printer installation issues, I am no longer certain that the problem is within the application. Before I repeat all of the testing though, let me ask this: should the single line DEFAULTSOURCE=2 placed in the EXPR field (or should it be the PICTURE field) be sufficient to direct the labels to the proper tray?

TIA for your help Tracy
