Try using the timing control(cant remember the exact name in english), set the interval propieties to the time you wish to timeout(Ex, 60000ms), then add thisform.release or the code you need to close the aplication to the timer event.

You can use the keyinput event of the form so you can add a timeout routine (using the timing control)after the last key has been pressed.
So, if the user leaves without logout, after the time you set you can close the program.
