I am importing a .rtf file into a general field using APPEND GENERAL myGeneralField FROM MyRTFfile.rtf, but when I view the imported data (eg. by double-clicking on the Gen field in browse mode) I can only see the first line of the RTF data. When I view the .rtf file in Word or WordPad it looks fine.

If it is of any relevance, the RTF file was created by combining a number of RTF strings using the method as suggested in Scott Butts' message #850861.

I have tried adding the CLASS "RTF" (or "Rich Text" or "RICHTEXT.RICHTEXTCTRL.1") clause to the APPEND GENERAL command, but it doesn't make any difference.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what might be going on here?
