Justg to include some facts that some seem to be missing. I too had no idea what the "rapture" was 6 yrs ago. Then a funny thing happened. Someone in GWB's camp decided that the far right religious camp didn't feel catered to enough in politics. And that if georgie pandered to them, it would give him a significant boost in the elections.

Low and behold, what happens....georgie wins. And in the category of "religious nuts" he garners 99% of their votes. In the meantime, there's that series of books that have the "rapture" as their basis. Even though I've never thought of myself as deeply religious, I've tried to think of the more religious types as wanting to help others. Little did I know that according to these "rapture" books, there will come a fight between jesus and satan that will result in the death of everyone who does not believe in jesus. An extremely violent death, I might add.

Religious folks can now use this as an excuse to try and get others to believe under the guise of helping them for when the "rapture" comes.

>>Boy, this again..... :)

>>Ok. where do you find these people? I don't know any Christians who are just waiting around in pain for the rapture to happen... either that or you're taking what they say way too literally. When someone says "I can't wait 'til Christmas..." do you really think they'll die if Christmas doesn't happen.

>>I acknowledge that there are over zealous people in all walks of life. But they are the exception not the norm.

>I think that was the entire point of Perry's post. Here's an over zealous poster from the url:

>Israel would have to deal Iran at the same time and that would draw Russia into it.

>There would be a great rushing of nations against Israel if they were to nuke Damascus. The Bible says that all nations will be against them. If the use a nuke or two I can see that being the case.
>
>I say, bring it on.
>I'm getting tired and I want to see Jesus.
