No, not the US. Iran is the very well known sponsor of Hezbollah and my guess is Siria has also something to do with it.

Well, if Iran and Siria enter the conflict it will be really difficult this time for Israel since the US will not want to jeopardize their arab friends support for the war in Iraq, so I think they'll do everything within their reach to make a deal. But I'm not an expert, just a guy who read the news.
