I'm not trying to mislead -- this is the same exact cursor. The other memo field is never touched and is empty (I can test by removing that if you would like). It is just there for historical purposes. Only one memo field is changed -- the one causing the bloat.

Indeed -- for smaller memo fields, your change "appeared" to work. QA returned an entire range of records where this doesn't work. When I changed to their records for my test, I can now replicate. :(
