Do you send the mail directly from the VFP desktop - or did you write an ASP or foxISAPI (COM) for the server that would provide a [proxy] relay service?

I worked out how to send from a VFP applicaiion. But I [soon] learned that some prospective users did not have desktop (SMTP) client (their CDO objects had blanks where the SMTP name was defined). So I used an HTTP request object (ActiveX) to forward an XML to an ASP (or foxISAPI COM if available) to parse the XML and then use the DNS's CDO object on the server as a RELAY.
