I'm sure this has been answered before in one form or another so I'll apologize in advance. We are looking at compiling some reference books for VS.NET 2005 development and would like to find 1-2 volumes for each of the following topics:

C#
Visual Basic
ASP.NET
.NET Framework
Winforms/Desktop development

Hi, Bill:

Here are ones that I've read and will recommend:

1) C# 2005

Two good intro books:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0596102097/qid=1153249532/sr=1-8/ref=sr_1_8/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/059600799X/qid=1153250048/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Good intermediate book:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1590594193/qid=1153249532/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Also, an excellent book on .NET Generics that I strongly recommend:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0764559885/qid=1153249687/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

2) VB2005

I've only read one book, but this is a good one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0596007264/qid=1153250101/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

3) ASP.NET

Both of these helped me ascend the learning curve in ASP.NET 2.0
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1590594967/qid=1153249732/sr=2-3/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_3/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0735621764/ref=pd_bxgy_text_b/104-8004349-0228718?ie=UTF8

4) Winforms development

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321267966/qid=1153249955/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/032126892X/qid=1153249984/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Also....while you didn't specifically ask....if you want a good solid reference on sql 2005:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321382188/qid=1153250011/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-8004349-0228718?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Hope that helps...
Kevin
