What exactly do you mean by keeping your SQL Server logged in? How is the SQL Server service setup to run? It should be set to run automatically as some account. That will stay logged in as long as the server is on. There is also the SQL Server Agent service. It, too, should be set to run automatically. If you're talking about being connected to the Server (via Enterprise Manager), then no, you don't have to keep a connection to the server for the SQL Agent to run your DTS packages.
