Simply stated, their role in church leadership and in the home is to be submissive - much the same way I am to be submissive to my employer. Howard, thank you for clarifying your position.
Also, I read the link on "The Biblical Position on Women's Roles". I love this one:
"Whereas women traditionally fulfilled support roles and gained their greatest joy and sense of accomplishment from being wives and mothers, today many have abandoned their homes for the higher-paying and supposedly more prestigious jobs of the work force outside the home."
So....let me get this right - women are as valuable as men, but only when they follow "the plan" of staying at home and fulfilling their duties.
Back in the 1980's, I recall a TV interview with some major TV evangelist (might have been Falwell, but I'm not sure) and his family. He introduced his kids and said something like, "this is my oldest son, he wants to be a doctor, this is my 2nd son, he wants to be a lawyer or something....and this is my daughter, she's not sure what she wants to be, that'll be up to her husband".
