I've been happy using 2 different gizmos together.
1. The 'stretchy control' from http://www.codemine.com/ (look under free developer tools...)
..and 2. There is something called "tiny right corner" or something like that in the downloads section here. That adds that neat little gizmo in the lower right hand corner of your screen that all resizable windows apps have. Between the two of these, yer set.
