"God's design (as I see it in the Bible)". Here we go again. I'm not shouting here but I'll put it in big letters so you can understand: THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN BY MEN not by God. If men wanted to subjugate women, what better way to do it, in a God-fearing people and time, than to write it down as "God's Word"?

And in your employee-boss analogy - yes, in a way I am inferior to my boss: He holds, to a great extent, the power of employment or peniary over me, decisions on when I can go on vacation, for how long, how much I get paid, et al. IOW, in short, he can have a big effect on my life whereas I hardly touch his.

So this state should exist between a man and a woman? ('cos the bible tells me so)?

You need to spend some time with, say, an Irish family, then see who wears the trousers, instead of hiding behind your leather-bound family bible
