I've seen them on TV, rallying on the street, marching towards the police, with three rows of children in front. I've also heard firsthand accounts from a few cops I knew, who were there hunting the terrorists from KLA, saying they'd usually start shooting at the police from a house; the police would surround the house and mostly shoot until the guys inside ran out of ammo, or would just blast the gate (note that a regular Albanian house in Kosovo has a concrete wall around the yard high enough to be fit for any prison) and rush in. Then they'd find just three or four heavily armed guys, and a bunch of women and children. Had any of these died during the shooting, you'd see them on CNN.

The most stunning example of their PR tactics was the uni-national poisoning. Some time by the end of the eighties (long before Miloshevich) they claimed that Serbs have poisoned their kids at school by releasing some gas. It was trumpeted all around in any media that cared to publish that. The fact that the school was mixed - classes in Serbian and Albanian were in classrooms along the same halls, door to door, and that none of the Serbian and other children had any symptoms whatsoever, was conveniently omitted. The Albanian doctors were just parroting their party line.
