We have been trying to install a VFP9 application on a Win 2003 server and have run into a problem. The application exe and the database tables are both on the server and the msvcr71.dll is in the same folder as the application exe.

The network administrator installed the VFP9 run-time libraries on a user workstation (running Windows XP) while logged in as administrator. The app launched fine as long as he was logged in as administrator. But when other users logged in, the run-time libraries could not be found. He then gave the user local administrative rights and re-installed the run-time libraries on the user's workstation. The app begins to launch but then hangs up with a blank VFP window.

The curious part is that when the network administrator logs in as a user on his own account (MikeL), the app launches just fine. Yet, administrator is the owner of the network folder being used for the app, not MikeL.

I am the VFP developer and have installed apps on several different networks and have never seen this problem before. Does anyone know what the issue may be?

Thanks very much,
Stan
