There you go again! delegating what's best for your daughter to another man, for him to decide. No man is "responsible" for his wife. It's not even in the marriage vows AFAI can remember.
So if he turned to chapter & verse that said you should thrash the wife soundly once a week (and there probably is) you be OK with that?
