>Can you help me? I am working on ERP presently I use APPEND BLANK and REPLACE with RLOCK(), my company is devided in 7 different units which are located in range of 15 to 20KMS where some times network work very slow as well as break the link for few seconds. RLOCK() is taking lot of time to lock a record some time, during this if network breaks a link the DBF become corrupt. Can INSERT INTO is usable and can solve the problem in this situation? As per my knowledge it will be faster than RLOCK() & REPLACE. I think now you can understand my problem. Please give me solution if you know? How can I prevent my DBFs to become corrupt?

In your situation, I wouldn't dare use the tables directly. I'd rather try using offline views, and then try to update them at times. Can't really say that I know what I'm talking about - never used offline views - but if my network connection was unreliable, I'd surely investigate them. VFP has always insisted on having its tables open, and anything that closes them is sure to generate at least an error, if not outright corruption of the tables.
