I want to rewrite an old DOS FP 2.6 appliation to VFP. To do this I need to see what the old program did (it will not run on XP).

What I know

The purpose of the application is to do FTPs (MVS, VM, Widnows, Unix, etc). It lets users set up souurce and destinations, file to be transfered, etc. The information is stored in tables.

It only knows about DOS, Windows 95, and Windows 98.

It uses the DOS FTP command.

Questions

What is the best way of doing this? I know about functional conversion, but this is ugly and does not always work.

Is there a better program to do the initail conversion.

What is the best way to do the FTPs (free is preferred, but need to know about comercial or shareware alternatives).
