I have a ASP.Net webform with a DropDownList control. I populate the list with a table in a dataset. When the control displays on the form, the first item in the dropdown is showing.

How can I make the dropdown display with no item displaying in the list? I would rather have the user make a selection from the dropdown instead of the dropdown defaulting to the first item.
