>>>I'll bet two beers that she is.

>>>Statistically, two things were proven (before internet, unfortunately, can't supply a link): working mothers are better mothers, measured in percentages of academic success of their children, crime rate among their children, children's overall health and few other parameters. The other is that divorce rate in the Bible belt is significantly higher than in other states - you can find that one by googling "bible belt divorce rate statistics".

>>>In a family where both parents work, they set a better example to their children, by bringing home news from work, talking about them in front of the children, discussing various people they meet. In a family where only one parent works, the other has not much of other connection to the world but neighborhood gossip and the media.

>>>I wish your wife a successful career.

>>Of course, "better" is a relative term...what's better to me is obviously not better to you. I'm happy with my life - my wife is happy with her life as well. I really don't see why that offends so many of you.

>I can only speak for myself, not others. I am not offended at all that you and your wife are happy with your lives. That's great, and I am not being ironic or flippant. Where I *do* start getting offended is when you seem to be prescribing the choices you have made as the choices others should make as well. Not only should make, but will spend eternity in hell if they don't. (Even if they were just born into the "wrong" religion). To me that's quite condescending. The bottom line IMO is none of us truly knows what the hereafter will bring. The only difference is you think you do.

Being absolutly sure of the after life is part of being a Christian. So, if he seems confident of his fate in the after-life, it doesnt bother me at all. You don't have to accept his view/belief. No need to be offended by it.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
