The bible CAN be intepretated in many ways and it currently IS interpretated in many ways. How else do you explain the differences in religous groups that all take the bible as their holy book? They use the verses to interpretate the contents to their lives in modern ages.
Therefore I disagree.
Question: How do you interpretate Thy shall honour your parents (I'm not sure if I translated this correctly in english) ?
A: You shall honour your parents unconditionally
B: Your parents shall raise you such, that you will honour your parents.
