I do have a timer on the form. It's not really doing anything. But if it would be doing something do I need to adjust my OnComm event's code because of that?

>Not that you need a timer, but I was just asking if you have one that might be interfering. I indeed use a timer, to provide a timeout for un-recognized or garbled entries, when it is fired, I clear the buffer but each time a COMM event is received, it resets the timer.
