Like I said, the people who wrote the Holy texts, Like JC, had to "sell" their religion as the best. What better way to get converts than to say "Unless you join us and worship you'll end up in eternity, with a pitch fork where the sun don't shine". The people bought it, threw up there hands and said "Show me where I sign on".

The sad thing is that there are still people buying it.
