Actually, my preferred method is to create an array of objects in the first place. But several prominent members of the UT have expressed concerns, saying that this is not documented, and might therefore stop working in future versions.
Anyway, just in case you're interested, the basic idea (including the objections, and other alternatives) is outlined in my FAQ #8110 (under the heading "Option 1").
I have used it for quite a while for adding a group of related objects (mainly, CheckBoxes) onto a form.
