Basically, He paid a penalty that I should have had to pay. I believe that He paid for sins past and future - which would have included my sins.

Why would God require payment for sins? I know, original sin in the garden. So, Adam was created with the capability to do wrong. Mistake? Design? Why? Why set up all of humanity to fail? I know again, free will. There is a twisted answer to anything anyone wants to debate. Unfortunately, all you have is a book written by old men, many years after the fact, and everyone else has science and all the facts that go with that. Don't get me wrong; it's a good read. As a kid I always enjoyed the stories, especially old testament stuff. Moses, Esther, the 3 guys in the fire, Daniel and the Lions, Joseph, etc. But it's a book. Well meant perhaps, but still just a book.
