I am converting a DOS app to VFP. One of the print requirements is to print data to specially designed wallet cards that are tractor fed. In DOS, I send printer codes that established a page length of one line so as to avoid problems with EJECT.
When I try to send the same string in VFP, I get an error 1957: Error accessing printer spooler. I am printing to a local printer and do not want to spool--it takes too long for the print job to begin printing. However, the only way I seem to be able to send this string is to enable spooling.
Any idea why VFP cannot communicate directly with the printer?
TIA.
John
