Hi all,

We've seem to run into a bit of a problem with using VFP and MySQL.
If an end-user accidently terminates a text string in a MEMO field
with a backslash, and we save the record to a local VFP dbf file...no
big deal;however, once the local database is updated, we're also
updating a MySQL database, and MySQL nukes when it sees the backslash,
saying that our SQL sytax is incorrect. Basically, MySQL is interpreting
the backslash termination as an escape sequence, so it misses the
"close single quote" in the SQL command!

We figure that a quick fix is to just disallow the backslash key.
We've searched VFP help, read about key-event handlers and such,
but we're wondering if there is a simple command that just stops
a key from being used? If not, I guess we'll just have to write
a handler and such. (Shrug.)

So. Is there an easy way to do this, folks? :^)

I eat spaghetti code out of a bit bucket while sitting at a hash table! Someone
asked me if I needed salt, and I said, "I'm not into encryption." :^)
