I have no doubt that the U.S. government is GIVING those supplies to help the Lebanese people. But they aren't produced out of thin air you know. Someone had to pay for them, and the Government's cheque is the best there is.

While I also have always sympathized that the U.S. (government) cannot win for losing, this one just has an odour to it of deeper objectives at play and I have a gut feel that it involves taunting Iran into war.
It's real hard to maintain sympathy with an Administration that can't help but tell a lie, and a push for no cease-fire until it is "sustainable" tells me that "values" aren't what they used to be. Can't use unwanted embryos for medical research but can keep bombing a country and watching hundreds be killed or maimed in the process.

I can't seem to stay out of this thread though I really want (need) to because my feelings are wayyy too strong on the whole matter. Mainly because war is just becoming a ho-hum event for far too many people now.

>The United States is dropping medical supplies into Lebanon. I believe it is a humantarian effort and the U.S. is giving the Lebonese people the supplies, not selling them.

>Many countries right now are complaining that the U.S. needs to take a more forceful stance on the Israeli/Hezbollah situation. Yet usually most Arab countries complain that the U.S. should stay out of their business and not exert any influence. They want us, they don't want us. You can't win for losing....
