They fought each other for most of the 1980s. Ah, the good old days!

>Perhaps the intent of building the Iraqi security forces is to build a military that will attack Iran and solve a few problems at once.

>>Jake posted a url yesterday that noted that Bush's invasion of Iraq is doing wonders for getting the Arab street in line. So never underestimate the power of establishing a failed state in the midst of civil war, where 400 billion has been spent so far, where 2565 soldiers have died, in the hopes that we are able to scrape together an Iran-friendly guvmint, all the while making Iran the lone superpower in the region. Good thing we're not at odds with Iran cuz that would suck.

>>>One viewpoint given on how to end the conflict between Lebanon and Israel is to have the Lebanese military disarm Hezbollah. That should be an easy task as has been the experience of the Unites States military in Iraq during the last three years. The world’s mightiest military cannot disarm militias and militants in Iraq, so Lebanon should be able to disarm Hezbollah.

>>>Yesterday it was announced that an average of 100 people die in Iraq each day, along with two United States servicemen. This is no longer news but rather an expectation.
