Just replace the hub with a switch. Hubs have to share the bandwidth with all other workstations i.e. if you have 20 workstations running at load each workstation only has 1/20th of the bandwidth.
Also the packets collisions would be excessive and network would spend most of its time trying to resolve collisions and not doing much useful work.
A Hub is not a good topology to run a native VFP DB on.
