I've been stung probably 20 times in my life. The most recent time the histamines built up to such an extent that I am now 'allergic' while I never was before. It was a surprise to me. I was stung while working in the yard and went inside to sit down with an ice pack and in a few moments I couldn't breathe and had the severe reactions that are typical. I didn't even realize what was causing it because I had been stung so many times and never had any type of reaction previously. Now I don't go anywhere without the kit! I keep hotshot around for the entire year here in NC. The spring and also around October are the worst times for wasp activity.

Wow, 20 times! Yeah, I'd say you're allergic. I have a friend who lives in Winston-Salem who also told me that spring is the worst time. Ours is early summer.

I was stung in the back and the neck by wasps when I was about five. I don't remember much anymore, other than being very sick afterwards. The habit that my wife says is the most annoying is anytime I spot a wasp - I run for my can of Raid and kill every wasp in sight.

I hate wasps.
