Actually I'm always picking things from any language that comes along. And Dutch came along with summer, sun, vacation... not that I learned much, but it stuck. Once my father bought a TV which was obviously made for Belgian market - and the instructions came in French and Dutch. I got it right eventually, after a few failed attempts to use the French version :).

I'm probably getting many words wrong in Dutch, because I'm using too many "ah this must be the analogue of the German {word here} and it almost sounds the same, probably the meaning is close".
