Hello Aman

Check this link "Send control codes to a printer from XP":
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1888105,00.asp

It has to do with saving control codes into a text file and COPYing to LPT1.

Let me know whether it worked for you because since I moved some reports from W98 to XP and kept using the Generic printer I started having some problems with regards to printing speed (as you said) , font type selections during design time and paper bottom margins.

I also was thinking about converting some important "fast reports" to the same old style of opening the printer port directly from Fox by using the "???" command and sending "@ prow()+1, nCol Say " commands.

Let me know,

Juan C.

>>You didn't specify the printer but some printers accept an escape code to change the default font. In this case, you'd want to use the printer driver naked and let the printer ROM do the formatting.

>Does it help to type these Codes in "Font Selection" tab in "Generic Text Printer Driver" properties? I tried to set Bold_On to "E" & Bold_off to "F", but i think it needs to be prefixed with an Escape character... what would that be?
>I tried on Win XP but it didn't make a difference. Please provide any info about your experience with Fast printing.
