>Ah....well....that's not how I meant to come across. It's just that things like this happen and the world press jumps on top of it, displays it to the world with a "Isn't this horrible!" attitude, gets their ratings and moves on. People watch these things and go "Isn't that horrible!" and nothing ever happens to stop things like this from happening again. It's very frustrating.

Isn't this part of "war against terrorism", to eliminate this type of horror and injustice?

>However frustrating it may be, it doesn't give me the right to denigrate Terry's response to the program nor was I trying to do such, and if it came across as that - then I apologize.

>>And all those are good points, but it doesn't diminish the original feelings that Terry had regarding the girl. You made it sound like the crime was that he felt the way he did, while all these other things are going on. They're all bad. Including what happened to the girl.

>>>And I've known women who've been raped...then humiliated at the guy's trial...and end up committing suicide because they couldn't 'take it anymore'. Dead's dead no matter how it comes and the only difference here is that this 16 year old had no choice.
>>>
>>>And I've never said it wasn't harsh. It is.
>>>
>>>And before people start jumping again, yes..I've also known women who have been raped, lived to tell about it, survived the trial and got on with their lives.
>>>
>>>>>And I'll be happy when all the world comes to that opinion. Rape is rape, no matter what gender the 'rapee' is, and it is *not* a sexual crime.
>>>>
>>>>But the punishment for being raped seems a bit more harsh in Terry's post, no? You get raped, humiliated, and executed.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.
