If you have a "group by" all other fields should "reflect" the grouping operation, which is the "tightening" of SQL rules in vfp8 and 9. As for "IIF( NET.Route == NET.Mcl_Rte, " ", NET.Mcl_Rte) as ContrNum" - I overlooked it , thinking it was also a sum operartion like the following statements, which were correct SQL from the start.

What do you expect vfp to show when you have rows with identical ET.operator but differing ET.Date after grouping on ET.operator ?? Any aggregating function will give you a defined result...
