It is not sufficient to program a trial period into your application without also protecting the application source code from prying eyes that can see how the trail code works and hence how to work around it. If the trial period is the objective then I think the fastest road might be to use a program like Armadillo which can both protect your source code and also offers trial periods that require unlock codes to be able to continue working.
