My .02 cents...

I use this coding (a STARTUP.PRG called from the CONFIG.FPW) to insert the DATETIME() in the command window when launching VFP:

_cliptext=[*** Start ]+transform(datetime())+[ ***]
keyboard '{ctrl+v}'
keyboard '{enter}'

Works fine.
