The ShellExecute function does a great job of invoking another exe within my application, until I tried to invoke a self-extracting .exe. Nothing happens. The self-extracting works fine via autorun.inf.

The 3rd parameter of ShellExecute is usually where the .exe is listed. Is there some kind of windows invoker that could go in the 3rd parameter and the self-extracting file used as the 4th parameter.

Any ideas.

Long story short. I need a way to invoke the self-extracting exe within my app.

The Run command, maybe but, that require DOS stuff to be in place.
