I recently spent a few hours with a 911 dispatch center observing operations. I didn't expect much excitement, but about an hour after a I arrived there was a bank robbery, a police chase, a theft at a grocery store where the k9s had to be called in and the suspect was bitten and taken to the hospital, etc. Quite an exciting day!
>>>I'm curious about other cities. I've just run some reports that I posted on my
MemphisCrime blog and was wondering if anyone had any similar statistics for your city.
>>
>>Thousand Oaks, CA and Simi Valley, CA (I'm between them) routinely top the list of cities over 100,000 with the lowest crime rate. The local joke is the 911 operator is the only person more bored on the job than the Maytag repairman. ;-)
