Thanks for the reply.
I also tried SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 80 in the VFP9 compile- in the runtime not before creating the report which is actually about 5 years old.

question- If it is the identical report - and Winfax works in the 8 compile and hangs in the 9 compile- could the data environment be different in the 9 report because of the new report engine.
