There's an old programming practice, almost a rule: when you're looking, looking, looking and can't find it, get someone who doesn't have the faintest idea of what you're doing, and he'll find it in a millisecond. Or you'll find it yourself while explaining what's wrong.

I've seen both principles doing miracles a hundred times, which is documented in my code (comments like "two blind idiots didn't see that..." and such).
