Just starting the research on this so I'm looking for ideas in advance before I get started just in case anyone out there has experience with this already. I do have C+ code which supposedly will accomplish this but I haven't dived into it yet...

I have a USB check reader / card swiper and it came with software drivers that directed the input through the keyboard. I haven't used it for quite awhile but the input is handled the same as a simple in-line keyboard swiper, just that I had to install the drivers that came with the reader/swiper. I bought the device through eBay and downloaded the drivers from Magtek.
