You will have clients that will ask and those who demand! Be prepared and use the tool that you are familiar with. Invest effort in learning tools that address such issues before it becomes a serious concern.

Getting a contract or job in high tech is dependent upon your skill set, the demands of the job, and sometimes attitudes of the guy in charge. This is the person who just read a magazine and knows (in this case) everything has to be 64 bit! How difficult is it to get work using VFP? How willing are you to learn new skills?

I think remaining employed boils down to skills, luck and the ability to survive. Sometimes prayer helps! :)
