Thanks - it did help with the usual trouble with anything Microsoft, which, well, can't explain in mid-sentence :). It usually comes with a bunch of options, most of which aren't necessary but almost everything can be adjusted. The trouble is that it actually must be adjusted, because they invariably come up with the wrong defaults. A fresh install has a truckload full of things I don't need turned on by default, and some things I do need are either turned off or need an additional install.
No wonder I stayed with W2K until this winter :).
