cetin, thanks again. however, when i run code to find the item by entryid, i get the following:

"OLE Idispatch exception code 4096 from Microsoft Office Outlook: Unable to parse condition. Error at "0000000009609E"....."

now, the "error at" portion of the entry id is only part of the entryid. maybe foxpro converted it to exponential format? i've done a google search but couldn't find anything, and as usual automation help from foxpro is great :-)

any suggestions?
