True, but I was refering to the national government. Afghanistan is working to some extent. Iraqi's had to learn guerilla warfare and are doing it with gusto. The Afghanis have been fighting pretty much non stop since 1979 and are offering only a token resistance.

I would generally agree. A counter-example though is Saudi Arabia is a rich and educated yet still is the cornerstone of Islamic fundamentalism and is the biggest exporter of it. Iranians are highly educated too.

Makes me wonder why Central and South American's aren't radical. Huge masses of poor and uneducated people. There is something about Islam and the Arab world having been a former power that causes this.
