Sorry to interrupt. Evan, either you're ignoring what's been going on the last few years or you're just out of touch.

>> These countries openly threaten Israel and attack it in various ways. Whether they can totally destroy Israel or only inflict limited damage is really not the point here.
>
>Sure it is. This entire argument is about measured response.

Israel wants to end this once and for all by getting rid of Hazbollah.

>
>I think the Arab Peace Initiative's idea of Land for Peace will work. The arabs have proposed it every one of Israel's neighbours (governments not sub-national groups) have bought into this and so has Palestine. We are on the cusp of peace.

Israel have offered to give up land in the past only to have Arafat throw it back in their face so he can prop up his reason for existing.

What did Israel give up just recently?

This is not about land. It's about one group wanting to wipe another group off the face of this world.

>> Like I said, this is never going to end.

>I give it 5 to 10 years. After that it will be Arab governments fighting their own exteremist citizens instead of fighting Israel.

As long as group like Hezbollah continue to exist, it will never end.
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.
- Alexis de Tocqueville

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
– Mark Twain (1866)
