Interesting point. I haven't checked the details on this, but wasn't there no formal declaration of war between Russia and Japan until just before WWII ended? If this is correct, shouldn't Japan have declared war on Russia earlier in support of Germany and the Axis pact? Or have I missed some detail(s) on the scenario?
